Job Description for Radar Systems Hardware Engineer

Job Summary:

Within this role, you will be responsible for Aptiv’s industry leading radar development.

Your Role:

• Develop Radar MMIC requirements supporting Aptiv’s current generation of products and next generation transceiver needs

• Engage with Aptiv’s supply base communicating requirements, joint work, issue resolution, troubleshooting, and other items accomplished through a joint effort between Aptiv and various vendors

• Develop early prototypes of MMIC hardware ensuring ICs meet vendors commitments and Aptiv’s radar needs

• Support hardware driver development in Matlab providing a link between vendors API to Aptiv’s desired radar functions

• Support testing and test methodologies of radar MMIC’s and the intended functions.

• Support deployment of HW and driver SW to intended Aptiv platforms including development and troubleshooting for high volume radar programs.

Your Background:

• Master degree with 3+ years of experience or Ph.D. degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or other technical field

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Computer based simulation or analysis

• Matlab proficiency

• Knowledge of digital signal processing

• Graduate-level coursework and/or hand-on project experience in radar systems and radar signal processing

• Experience with radar transceivers

• General RF Background understanding of principles of output power, matching, return loss, transmission lines, etc.

• Ability to operate lab equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, O-Scopes, Network analyzers, power meters, etc. 

• Willingness to dig deep into issues and drive them to proper resolution.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in radar systems and utilizing Radar MMICs

• Experience in FMCW radar

• Experience in Scrum/Auto-Scrum development process
