Job Summary:

This role sits within Aptiv’s radar development group, which will be at the forefront of transforming the auto industry with cutting-edge technology. Within this role, you will be responsible for designing, evaluating, and troubleshooting automotive radar systems used in advanced safety and automated driving.

Your role:

  • Radar system engineer supporting Aptiv’s industry leading radar development.

  • Translate customer requirements into radar system concepts and proposals. Predict performance with simulation and verify with real-world data.

  • Develop waveforms, signal processing algorithms for FMCW, PMCW and MIMO radar systems.

  • Interface with multi-disciplinary product development team in support of design, integration and test (including radar system, microwave, electrical, mechanical and software design engineers)

  • Develop system, algorithm and software verification test plans and perform test data collection, data processing and analysis

  • Design documentation, software requirements definition; create test plans and test reports; Present design concepts, radar performance, tradeoff studies, and algorithms to team members, management and customers

  • Lead radar performance studies conducted at closed course test tracks and real world driving scenarios.

Your Background:

  • Master degree with 3+ years of experience or Ph.D. degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or other technical field

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Computer based simulation or analysis

  • Matlab proficiency

  • Knowledge of digital signal processing

  • Graduate-level coursework and/or hand-on project experience in radar systems and radar signal processing

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Strong documentation skills

Preferred Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in radar systems and radar signal processing

  • Experience in FMCW radar
    Expertise in one or more of the following areas: SAR, MIMO, STAP, compressive sensing, micro-Doppler analysis, super resolution techniques, spectrum analysis, object recognition

  • Experience in Scrum/Auto-Scrum development process
